Research area
My research aims to develop scalable individualised computational methods to extract relevant information from animal samples, from the cellular to the tissue level.
On the one hand, I am interested in developing image analysis methods to capture biologically relevant data from histology images and micro-Computed Tomography scans. On the other hand, I am exploring how this data can be used to improve the accuracy of existing in silico of bone adaptation and their power to predict structural changes over different time-scales.
Francisco Correia Marques is a PhD student at the Laboratory of Bone Biomechanics. He studied Biomedical Engineering and received his BSc degree from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2018 and his MSc degree from ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in 2020.
